It is our intention to make Cottontails Pre-school accessible to all pre-school aged children in Girton. We aim to ensure that all sections of our community have access to the setting through open, fair and clearly communicated procedures.
Government funding offers 15 hours free early learning and childcare for 3 and 4 year olds for 38 weeks per year and from September 2017, 30 hours for eligible children. You can check your eligibility for the 30 hours by visiting this website (https://childcaresupport.tax.)
The table below shows when your child will become eligible for their free early learning funding.

We also have a limited number of places for funded two year olds, who can have up to 15 hours of free early learning and childcare. Information on whether you are eligible for 2 year old funding is given on the Government website. You can apply for Government funding for your two year old on the Cambridgeshire County Council website. Children can start at Cottontails at the beginning of the term after they have turned 2. Applications for places can be made up to a year in advance using our application form.
Applications will be acknowledged within 14 days of receipt and held on file. Offers of places and hours of attendance will be provided at least 6 weeks in advance of the start of term. Places will need to be accepted in writing, in accordance with the allocations timetable.
