We have a full calendar of events planned for the last week of term:
Monday December 11th – Visit to the church to take part in the Nativity story:
We will be visiting St Andrews church to learn about why we celebrate Christmas and take part in the Nativity. If your child does not usually attend this day and you would like to come along please meet us at the Church at 11am.
Tuesday 12th December – Forest School camp fire:
We would like to invite all the Friday Forest School children to attend our Forest School camp fire on Tuesday 12th December. The session will run as usual for the Tuesday morning children. Any Friday morning children would like to attend should meet us as usual at 9am but be collected at 11am from the usual collection place on the recreation ground.
Thursday 14th December – Rising 5’s Christmas Concert:
All the children in their Pre-school year are invited to take part in our Christmas concert. This will take place on Thursday 14th December at 2pm. If your child does not usually attend the Thursday afternoon session please can you bring them in at 12.30pm so we can do a dress rehearsal.
If your child is in their Pre-school year but unable to join in with our Christmas concert please can you let Emma know so she does not allocate a costume / small part in the concert to them.
Christmas cake sale
After the Christmas concert the children will be holding a Christmas cake sale where you can purchase Christmas cakes, sweets and biscuits which the children will have made.
Friday 15th December – Christmas Party:
There is no Cottontails Forest School session this day. Instead all children are invited to attend the Cottontails Christmas party! Children can be dropped off at Cotton Hall at 10am and we will finish at 12.00. Hopefully we should have a visit from Santa as well.
This is a good time for you to come in and talk to your child’s key person about their learning and development or share any other concerns you have.
A board is now up in the front room for you to sign up to a time slot which is convenient to you.
We will be joining in with road safety week from 20th – 24th November.
During this week we will be learning about all aspects of road safety from crossing the road to wearing a cycle helmet, and wearing a seat belt when travelling in the car.
We are also hoping to have a visit from our local policeman.
Cottontails will be hosting the now legendary Chocolate Tombola at the Girton Glebe Christmas Fair on 25th November from 2-4pm.
To help us raise lots of money, we need your help. Please donate chocolate in any and all its forms, including chocolate bars and sweets, chocolate cake, hot chocolate, chocolate biscuits etc.
These should be put in the donations box in the front room.
On the day, please come along and support us at the fair. Other attractions include children’s games and crafts, refreshments and home made cakes, face painting by our friends at Bobtails, plus stalls from local businesses and nearly new toys and books. Santa will also be in his Grotto for the children to visit.
Entry is 50p per adults and free for children.
Cottontails is a registered charity and relies on fundraising to purchase many of the toys and materials the children use every day.
Thank you for your support.
